The 2014 vintage in Oregon may be remembered as the vintage of a lifetime. From bud break through harvest, growers and winemakers throughout the state experienced an almost ideal growing season that delivered a record amount of exceptional, balanced fruit.
This bottling is a special selection hand chosen from the best four barrels of Angela Vineyard by our winemaker each year. This wine is aged for 16 – 18 months in 50% new Cadus French oak barrels. Only 50 to 100 cases made only in the finest vintages.
The Wadenswil Clone is of Swiss origin and is characterized by a medium body, firm tannins, and bright red cherry and raspberry fruit notes. Aromatics of this clone are often described as hints of rose petal, lavendar fields and tea leaves.
Our Dijon 115 clonal selection is the tenor of our vineyard's clones. Planted in 2001, the Abbott Claim vineyard is located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The soils are ancient marine sediments with elevation between 400' - 475'. The Dijon 115 clone comprises 5 acres in total.
