The 2011 vintage was the coolest on record since 1924 in Oregon. The acid in this wine is right up front with incredible aging potential. If you enjoyed 2007 vintages, 2011 will not disappoint! If you can be patient, many of us this that this is the cellaring vintage of the decade.
The color is clear, with pale to medium ruby. The nose has medium intensity and youthful tones of black cherry cola, raspberry jam and matchstick. On the palate, the wine is dry with bright acidity and generous tannins. The fruit is full and focused with tart plum, red raspberry, cherry, graphite and our tell-tale white pepper spice. The alcohol is balanced and even with medium-plus intensity all the way to the finish.
