Our 2012 Angela Estate "Abbott Claim" Pinot Noir is easily our most decorated wine in our portfolio. 2012 was an ideal growing year with near-perfect conditions. Planted in 2001 by the Ken Wright Cellars team, this 16-acre vineyard holds court above Angela Vineyard on ancient, layered marine sediments. The clones planted on this site are Pommard, Dijon 777 and Dijon 115.
This Pinot has a vibrant ruby color and a clean, savory truffle aroma of medium intensity. The mouthfeel is lush with playful acidity, which frames the palate with rich red currant, cherry cola, sarsaparilla, sweet pipe tobacco and rose petal. The finish is long with forest floor and truffle / mushroom tones.

“Why is this one of the finest wines in Oregon? Perhaps because Ken Wright is behind it. Angela is owned by South African Antony Beck, who launched the brand in 2006 with the help of Wright, owner of Ken Wright Cellars and considered one of the best winemakers in Oregon history."
The aromatics of this elegant Pinot Noir offer rose petals, cherries and a subtle bit of spice. On the palate, its fruit includes more cherries, raspberries and a finishing bite of blueberry in its tannins, plus satisfying acidity to help it age well.
This (wine) won a unanimous double gold at the Great Northwest Invitational Wine Competition.” – Great Northwest Wines
“2012 Angela Estate “Abbott Claim” Pinot Noir... This wine is well-named, as drinking it is a religious experience...” - Neil Pendock, January, 2015
