Our flagship Pinot Noir from the Angela Vineyard, planted in 2006 on ancient, layered marine sedimentary soils. Wadenswil clone dominates the 34-acre site, balanced with Dijon 777 and Dijon 115 clones of Pinot noir. This gorgeous 2012 vintage had every advantage with perfect weather and guided by the expert hand of Ken Wright and crew.
For this 2012 vintage, the color is clear with pale to medium ruby/purple hues. The nose is clean with significant intensity displaying plum, hibiscus, cola, wet cedar chips and Bing cherries. The palate is dry with medium acidity and slightly more evident tannin with plum skin, white pepper spice, stewed cherries and cedar shavings, root beer candy and dried rose hips. The finish is balanced and earthy with hints of nutmeg and wet cedar shavings.
